FAQ’s
Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM
Cellulite is caused by factors which influence where and how
fat is stored, where and how fluid is retained, and the amount
and arrangement of collagen and elastin fibers in the connective
tissue layers of the skin. Factors influencing cellulite include
genetics, hormones, hydration, diet, exercise, stress, drugs,
and medications.
When normal fatty tissue is stored, it is held in place by
a network of collagen and elastin fibers and is connected to
a network of blood vessels and your lymph system. When the system
works well, the vascular system takes energy from the fat stores
when required, and toxins are flushed away by the lymphatic
system. When this system starts to fail, waste products start
building up and the connective tissue becomes saturated with
fluid, causing swelling and inflammation. Growing fat cells
damage the network of collagen and elastin fibers, causing them
to encase the fat cells. This forms hard pockets of fat, which
impair vascular and lymphatic vessels. The hardened pockets
of fat are the cause of the "orange peel" or "cottage
cheese" appearance known as cellulite, which can become
painful if the pressure within the pockets of fat becomes too
high.
To treat cellulite, the congested lymph and waste system needs
to be cleared, the encased pockets of fat needs to be softened
or broken down, and the weakened collagen and elastin fibers
needs to be strengthened and re-modeled. Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM
treats cellulite by 3 mechanisms: 1) a mechanical massage is
used to stimulate the lymphatic system to drain congested toxins
and remodel the connective tissues that has encased the fat
deposits, 2) cooling is used to reduce inflammation and swelling,
and 3) most significantly, infrared laser light is used to stimulate
the micro-vascular system stimulating collagen and elastin formation.
Studies show that the use of the laser light causes a 70% improvement
over not using the laser, and the Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM
system is much less likely to pinch and bruise like endermolgy
systems are known to do.
What is Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM?
LaserDermologySM is a cellulite treatment using the Tri-ActiveTM
system. It minimizes cellulite, smoothes and tightens your face
and body, pre and post liposuction procedures, enhances microcirculation,
and therapeutic massage. This system was originally developed
three years ago by laser scientists in Italy. This innovative
technology is used by physicians and spas all over the world
to uncover glowing skin for thousands of people.
How will Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM smooth and tighten
my skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite?
The Tri-ActiveTM LaserDermologySM series of treatments
uses deep mechanical massaging action, which works on the subcutaneous
tissue beneath the skin. This mechanism increases microcirculation,
restores the skin’s normal balance, and provides a healthier
appearance.
How soon will I notice results?
Individual results can depend on several factors: the area being
treated, whether treatment is combined with another procedure,
diet or exercise, your age and general condition, and the number
of treatments. The procedure is typically done in a series of
10 to 15 treatments in a given area. These can be spaced as
closely as 3 times a week, or as far out as once a week. In
some cases, it may take up to 6 to 10 treatments before you
start to see significant results and maintenance is required
once a month after desired results.
Is it painful?
The procedure is actually quite pleasant. It’s not even
as strenuous as a traditional massage. Most individuals report
that it “just feels great!”
What parts of the body can be treated?
Besides the thighs and buttocks for cellulite, most other parts
of the body can be treated as well: the face, the lovehandles,
tummy, upper arms, and neck. This procedure provides noticeable
results before and after liposuction and after other aesthetic
surgery, such as breast augmentation and abdominoplasty.
Who should not be treated?
Anyone that is pregnant, has bronchial asthma or acute asthma,
lower abdominal disorder, thrombopheletis, congestive heart
failure, hyperthyroidism, or carotid sinus syndrome. These conditions
are affected with the lymphatic drainage and could case complications.
How can LaserDermologySM complement my liposuction
procedure?
Because liposuction is a surgical procedure, normal results
include fluid retention (edema) and slackening of the skin.
LaserDermologySM treatment is recommended after surgery to accelerate
the tightening of the area. Treatment prior to surgery may also
have added benefits. Consult with your surgeon to find out what
is right for you.
